In the 2023, the Hobart Women’s Shelter provided emergency accommodation to 240 women and their children. Unfortunately, due to always being at capacity, they have been unable to accommodate a further 853 women and their children who sought assistance. 

This equates to turning away 8 out of 10 women and children. This alarming statistic is more than double the national average of women who are turned away from crisis accommodation. This trend has been consistent over the last three years, further emphasising the pressing need for expanded resources and support.

HWS is in the process of building 25 long term homes for women and children in Tasmania. And we are here to help them along the way, donating $1 from every product sold to their Buy and Brick campaign.

And for every in-home doula package sold across Australia, we will be donating a Fill My Cup day to the residents of HWS. Meals, in-home support, emotional and practical care and postpartum planning are just the beginning.
